Do I need a TECHNIVOLT wallbox?
We think: YES!

Better home charging

A charging station, also called a wallbox, charges your electric vehicle easily and quickly at home. With a wallbox, you benefit from greater flexibility, shorter charging times, and lower energy costs compared to charging via a standard 230V household outlet. It’s simply reassuring to know that your EV will be fully charged overnight and ready to go the next morning.

Better than the socket

Standard 230V outlets can technically charge electric vehicles, but they are not designed for sustained high charging currents and may overheat. A standard socket delivers only around 2.3 kW per hour – meaning that recharging 23 kW takes roughly 10 hours. In practice, only about 2 kW per hour actually reach the vehicle – a loss that costs both time and money.

Better with access protection

Installation in the garage not possible or undesirable? If your wallbox is installed outdoors, access protection makes sense to prevent unauthorized charging. All TECHNIVOLT wallboxes offer optional RFID-based activation, allowing charging only after authorization. Multiple RFID cards can be used.

Quick and simple answers

Yes. All TECHNIVOLT wallboxes are eligible under various funding programs in Germany, Austria, and certain federal states. These programs include incentives for both private users and businesses. A list of current funding opportunities can be found here.
According to VDE regulations, an 11 kW TECHNIVOLT wallbox must only be registered with your local energy supplier. However, a 22 kW TECHNIVOLT wallbox requires approval from the utility company, as the combined household and charging demand may exceed the grid connection capacity.

No. Installation must be carried out exclusively by a certified electrician or network operator. The total available electrical load of your household must be considered. Some homes support up to 43 kW total power – ideal for 11 kW charging. Others provide only about 22 kW total capacity, meaning concurrent operation with other large appliances may limit charging speed.Find a TECHNIVOLT installation partner here.
A MID meter (Measuring Instruments Directive) accurately measures electricity consumption for private information purposes. For legally valid billing – e.g., when reimbursing electricity for a company car or tenants – a legally calibrated (Eichrechtskonform) wallbox is required. This ensures tamper-proof, transparent measurement data in compliance with German calibration law.

TECHNIVOLT 100 and 101 include one master RFID card and two user cards. All other models include two RFID cards by default, with the option to add more (up to 1,000 per wallbox).
Yes. Selected models (starting from TECHNIVOLT 1100) can be integrated into an energy management system, such as a photovoltaic (PV) system, via the EEBUS protocol over LAN.If your PV system produces more electricity than is consumed in your home, your car can be charged using the excess solar energy for free. These wallboxes already feature an interface for the SMA Sunny Home Manager, which can be activated through the web interface.

Yes. All TECHNIVOLT wallboxes include a Type 2 charging cable, which is the European standard compatible with almost all electric vehicles.Exceptions include certain Tesla models – please check with Tesla which connector type your vehicle uses.
